Rangatira is fitted with all the modern
equipment you would expect to find on a
quality cruising yacht. New systems for 2007
include engine, electrical systems, steering,
mast and sails. With her new fully battened
main sail she now sails better than ever.
The traditional character of the boat has been
retained but all systems on board are modern
to provide a great bareboat yacht charter
experience.
Rangatira has a charming character which you
will feel as soon as you step on board and
she provides a relaxed sailing experience that
is different to many mass produced yachts.
We think that Rangatira is the ideal way to
cruise the Hauraki Gulf and the North East
Coast of New Zealand and to experience
some of the best scenery and cruising the
world has to offer.
Accommodation is provided for 6 persons but
a maximum 4 persons is a comfortable
number when cruising.

Rangatira is a traditional New Zealand wooden hull motor sailer built in 1963. She has
a full length Kauri planked hull and long keel to provide security and an easy motion at
sea.
Our main cruising area is the Hauraki Gulf which provides
numerous Islands, bays and anchorages to explore. For
those with more time the Bay of Islands and North East
coats of New Zealand are within easy sailing range. Please
